Privacy, in plain English.
PasteLight does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. It reads your clipboard locally and writes a compressed copy back. Nothing leaves your machine.
What stays local
- Every image you copy or screenshot.
- Your clipboard history (stored in
~/Library/Application Support/PasteLight/). - Your settings (stored in macOS UserDefaults).
What we don't do
- No accounts. No sign-up. No email required.
- No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting.
- No network requests beyond Sparkle update checks (when enabled).
- No selling or sharing of anything, ever — there is nothing to sell.
When PasteLight goes paid
After the free launch season, PasteLight will validate license keys through Lemon Squeezy. That single API call sends only the license key — no email, no machine fingerprint, no usage data.
